Admissions Requirements

The program length depends on your available transfer credit. Admissions requirements for this degree completion program include:

APPLICANTS WITH 0 - 12 COLLEGE CREDITS

General Admission:
Applicants who have earned 12 or fewer semester college credits must meet one of the following conditions for admission:

  • ACT ≥18, or
  • SAT Combined ≥870, or
  • Accuplacer Computer Placement Test:
    Sentence Skills ≥86 and Algebra ≥53

Admission with Academic Support:
Applicants who do not meet any of the above conditions for admission will be admitted if they meet any one of the following:

  • ACT 14-17, or
  • SAT Combined 660-869, or
  • Accuplacer Computer Placement Test:
    Reading ≥54 and Arithmetic ≥36

APPLICANTS WITH 13 OR MORE COLLEGE CREDITS

General Admission:
Applicants who have earned 13 or more semester college credits must meet one of the following two conditions for admission:

  • Cumulative college GPA ≥2.0, or
  • Accuplacer Computer Placement Test:
    Sentence Skills ≥86 and Algebra ≥53

Admission with Academic Support:
Applicants who do not meet either of the above criteria will be admitted if they meet the following condition:

  • Accuplacer Computer Placement Test:
    Reading ≥54 and Arithmetic ≥36

ADMISSION WITH ACADEMIC SUPPORT

Students admitted with academic support are limited to 12 credit hours of study during their first semester (6 credit hours per session).

Students admitted with academic support will be required to take developmental English and/or Math courses unless they meet the following conditions:

  1. ENG099 Writing Review ? must meet one of the following:
    • Accuplacer Computer Placement Test:
      Sentence Skills ≥86
    • ACT Verbal ≥14
    • SAT Verbal ≥430
    • High school GPA ≥2.5
    • Completion of a college level English composition course with a grade C or above
  2. MAT097 Mathematics Review II ? must meet one of the following:
    • Accuplacer Computer Placement Test:
      Algebra ≥53
    • ACT Math ≥14
    • SAT Math ≥400
    • High school GPA ≥2.5
    • Completion of collegiate level Algebra course with a grade C or above

ACCUPLACER POLICY

Applicants may not take the ACCUPLACER more than twice in a 30-day period, nor more than three times in a 12-month period. Applicants who do not pass all sections of the test on the first attempt may retake the entire test or only those sections not passed.

ADMISSION APPLICATIONS

All applications for admission must be submitted to the Admissions Department. An admissions representative will help interested applicants complete the following required documentation:

  • Completed Application for Admission Form
  • Application fee (non-refundable, except in California)
  • Official transcripts from all postsecondary schools attended
  • Proof of high school graduation or GED or college degree from a regionally accredited institution or a nationally accredited institution approved and documented by the faculty and dean of The American School of Professional Psychology, or completion of an Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree from a regionally accredited institution. The AA or AS degree may transfer in its entirety. A maximum of 78 lower division or 90 total credit hours may be transferred. Remedial or developmental courses are not transferable.
  • A minimum written TOEFL® score of 500 (paper version), 173 (computer version), or 61 (Internet version) for all applicants whose native language is not English or who have not graduated from an institution at which English is the language of instruction.
